Personal Statement

One thing, which I feel the most difficult while I am setting up this website, should be preparing my personal statement in the About side box. If you are still not sure where I am talking about, please look at your right hand side.

While I was studying in University, I read quite a lot of journal articles / white papers (well, it’s not I really love reading them, but I need them to do my assignments). At that time, it was quite surprising to me that there is always a little paragraph next to the name of the author, explaining to others who the author is in a third person form. Later, I realized it’s not just the trend in academic, it’s what so-called a professional presentation. I found it in all articles in CodeProject, in Expert Exchange, in forums, in anywhere I go where people present themselves as an IT professional. I guess, one day, I may need to come up my own version and I just wonder, what mine would look like if I really need to prepare one.

I originally planned on writing something about my programming past (if there is any one interested, I could write another post for it =D). But it seems like too long and makes me look like a story telling old man. Then my second thought was to focus more on what my vision is, and what I believe IT should do to people today. And it ends up with this current paragraph.

Derek Lio, a person who always dreamed that he would be the one who could create possibilities for others, making the impossible possible. He does not believe that a person should be restricted by what the system could offer; in contrast, a system should be created in the way how people want it, because everything should be possible as in the hands of creator.

Please give me some feedbacks or comments if you feel I am not really on the right track. Thanks guys!
